Firm Wins Appeal for Commission for Lawyer Discipline in Robert S. Bennett Misconduct Case

Roach Newton, LLP recently secured a win on behalf of the Commission for Lawyer Discipline, when the Houston Fourteenth Court of Appeals affirmed a trial court’s assessment of sanctions for attorney misconduct against Robert S. Bennett.

Acting as special assistant disciplinary counsel for the Commission, Randy Roach and Danny Davis briefed the legal argument to the court of appeals, arguing that the sanction of two years and three days of active suspension and six months of probated suspension was justified in light of Bennett’s misconduct. The court of appeals agreed on December 21st, affirming the trial court’s sanction. See Bennett v. Commission for Lawyer Discipline, No. 14-17-00521-CV (Tex. App. – Houston [14th Dist.] Dec. 21, 2018, no pet. h).
